Some questions I have about my NTM 01' ZTS!

NTM meaning New To Me ;D I just got this 01 ZTS 5 Speed and I love it so far, its really a peppy and great handling car. I've got a few questions though:

The first time I filled up at the tank the car smelt like unburned gas for about 20-30 miles. No obvious leaks under the car or under the hood from what I could see, what's that about? BTW within the quarter tank that I used I've gone about 50 miles, is that normal for a Focus? I was expecting better...

Also, the struts and shocks are bad. The car was originally impounded so I think it sat for a long time. I was quoted like 600 bucks parts/labor to replace them. I was thinking about getting some Raceland Coilovers and trying to do that job myself instead... opinions on that?

Any other maintenance things I should do? I changed the tires to some Dunlop Direzza DZ101's and I like them a lot. I checked the oil and its super clean, and the thing idles smoother than my dad's Toyota. It doesn't really feel like it needs anything, but I'm open to your suggestions.

LASTLY, I want to ask about mods. I mentioned the coilovers, but I'm also thinking about the Magnaflow catback and a K&N Typhoon cone air intake. Nothing crazy, but I'm wondering what you guys like to do on the cheap.

Super excited to see what you guys say! Thanks

Full tune up: new filter, plugs, oil change, belts.

My focus gets about 75-80 for a quarter tank. It's not getting good mileage cause it probably needs a tune up.

If you're just looking to dump it, I'd say just go ahead and get racelands, they're cheap and effective, just don't autox on them lol

I've lowered mine 2", 17x7.5 wheels, magnaflow exhaust, no intake yet !
