My new project

Well I bought it today for $1250. Bone stock, from the original owner. 152k, new shocks/struts, new brakes, calipers, and brake lines, new clutch and fuel pump. The owner took great care of it mechanically too, oil every 3000, trans and rear diff every 30,000. It has some rust on the rocker panel and the frame but will be easy patch. Anyway, its a 1990 Nissan 240sx, only pics I have for now.

Interior is immaculate other then torn driver seat

nice buy! i have had several silvias that i used to drift even had an rb25det swap in one that was very high hp.

Thanks! I am super happy with it. I'm going to get a few maintenance things done first, motor mounts, valve cover gasket, and probably change the plugs and wires. And of course patch the rust. From there I'll probably do some sort of coilover kit and exhaust. Then run the KA into the ground and put in a sr20

I was just looking for some sort of beater/project car. Went and looked at a 1990 tbird s/c last saturday but it needed too much. My buddy came across this on Monday and I immediately emailed the guy. Looked at it Tuesday and brought it home yesterday. I knew I had to jump on it, something like that wouldn't last long.

A could more pics. The interior is insanely clean. Not a single crack in the dash, which is apparently a common thing with these.



So far I've ordered poly urethane motor and trans mounts, valve cover gasket, bought plugs and wires, and obviously oil. So once everything gets here I'll just do it all at once. It feels like it needs new driveshafts u joints which is no big deal, and it keeps cutting out when beating on it. From what I've read it could be related to the speedometer. Apparently the speedo sends a signal to the ecu when you're going to fast and it will then govern the speed, but the SOHC ka is known to have an issue with the sending unit and it will cut you out randomly. Someone said they replaced the gauge cluster and it works fine again, others said they just cut the wires to the speed sensor at the trans and that works too. It makes sense though because the old owner told me he did replace the gauge cluster not to long ago

Nice S13. SR would def be the top of my to do list if I could ever find a Silvia. Been looking forever for a decent S15 to no avail. I'd almost trade the SVT for the right one lol. Almost.

SR is on the list but not the most important thing quite yet. Basically my plan is keep the KA for the next year and to buy the SR with next years tax return, but if the KA doesn't make it that long then the SR will come sooner.
