My Ford Touch not playing by artist after indexing.

First I want to state that I've been searching for the better part of a day for a solution to this on this forum and through google in general so if someone has already solved this issue and this is just a double posting I apologize.

Car: 2012 Focus Ti with My Ford Touch Sync.
Music Device: Apple Ipod second generation 32gig.

When I first bought my Focus the voice command "Play artist (insert artist name here)" was probably the only thing that worked right with my Sync.

As soon as I applied my first update(v2.11 to 3.0.2) to the system that's when things went bad. After the reboot and a re-index of the system I could no longer use the voice command "Play Artist" Every other command works just fine when it comes to the Ipod. When I browse by artist it the first artist that appears alphabetically in the list twice then it displays album names for all of the rest of the artist. (Tried deleting the first artist out of my playlist and it just defaulted to the next one). The weird thing is that this only happens after the Ipod is indexed. While it is indexing and building voice commands all lists appear as they are on the Ipod.

Currently I'm updated to version 3.6.2 and the problem still exists. What is interesting is that this problem only occurs when I use manually managed playlists (for example I only select 95% of the songs and none of my movies and tell itunes to only sync checked songs) The problem is that I have 80 gigs of music and I no idea who I would go about running two version of itunes to create a unmodified play list.

Things I've done to try and fix this problem:
1. Pull fuse 67
2. Download the ford metadata cleanup utility and ran that (only found 1 song with an issue)
3. updated to version 3.6.2
4. Pulled Battery Cable for 24 hours
5. Updated Itunes to the latest version.
6. Cursed at sync system for past year.

I hate to sound like another drone who hates the sync system because I really want to like it but this thing has never worked right. Even version 3.6.2 has bugs that I can't understand how they were missed during testing.

If anyone has experienced this problem and has been able to solve it please throw me a bone here.
