2012 Ford Focus Ti. won't turn off! PLS Assist.

Hi all.

This is a long shot but I feel as if I've come to a dead end.

I got home from work over 2hrs ago and I go to shut off my 2012 Ford Focus Ti via the Push Button START/STOP and it will not turn off! This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen happen with this car. It's like the T1000, it just won't die!

I have tried putting the car in park w/parking brake up and down. Nothing. Dropped it into Neutral w/parking brake on. Nothing.

I called Ford Road side assistance and they aren't very knowledgeable with the mechanics of the car - strange huh? They did call a tow truck and their mechanic suggested I walk away from the car w/key fob and it should shut down on it's own.

I took three separate trips out. Each longer than the other and more further away from the vehicle and I come back to see it's still on.

Dealerships are closed here in Toronto at 12:39am so that isn't an option right now.

Another suggestion was to disconnect battery (I don't know how to do that) but I was also told it probably won't kill the car because the car is on and already running off the alternator. Car also has more than half a tank of gas so letting it run all night in an underground garage isn't a very good option.

I don't know what else to do. Has anyone experienced an issue like this before?

TL:DR version = Car won't turn off when I push STOP button. It's been running for the past two hours. Walked away from car with key fob approx. 5miles/10kms. and come back to see car is still on.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

How long did you hold down the button to stop? I seem to remember another car make that wouldn't stop unless you held it down for more than a few seconds.

If the IA key is far enough away, and you hit the brake, won't it shut off? You shouldn't be able to drive it without the IA key.....

Heh, I actually tried pulling one. It was the Ignition one under the glove box. #78 to be exact. Nada. It was a wild stab in the dark though anyways.

I did try that too actually. I tried multiple pushes. Push and held for 3 seconds then even 10 seconds. Nothing.

It's like the push button is completely dead.

I was searching some more and came across this thread...

Doesn't seem like the issue was resolved though.

OK, I am trying everything here. Do you by chance have your phone paired up through bluetooth? I just read a post in another forum of a guy with your exact problem with a different make. As soon as he paired up his phone with bluetooth and placed a call, the car would shut off. Sounds crazy but worth a try.

ok. Pulled the "fuel pump supply, tmaf. " - #56 (hard to reach) that killed the engine. All electronics are still on though.

Ugh, I want to drive it to dealer in the morning but not sure she's going to even start again.

Thanks for all the help so far.
