These commonly crack at the PCV hose under intake to leak. If problem mainly at idle/off idle.

Cleaning MAF by spraying with some sort of solvent and then letting it completely dry before powering it up usually works. Carb cleaner or dedicated MAF cleaner. Either works.

I second the PCV hose. On the Duratec it's a very difficult hose to see, but if you take a flashlight and look through the intake manifold at all angles, you'll see it smashed in there. You can also catch glimpses of it from underneath, but getting your hand in there to feel it is a task fit for Houdini. Ford apparently has a $600 deal on PCV valve and hose replacement, which they do with special tools while the manifold is still in place. Doing it yourself requires removal of the manifold, which is a process.

Wow that is crazy that the pcv is like that on that motor :/

Well at least you have a code now to narrow it down a bit.

Don't know what work you've done so far, but these are the same symptoms I had on my 2004 2.3 pzev with a bad coil. Mine was running ok until I replaced the old platinum plugs with the copper 103s. With the 103s installed, I had rough idle and hesitation. After alot of swapping coils and plugs around, I found that one of the coils didn't work with the 103 plugs.
