Ah. Well, I didn't even think my car would be in the 8's. Runs about dead even with my fathers 2012 Fusion 2.5L. The car also has a great power band around 2500-3000 that shifts smooth as glass (as does everywhere else). I really have to say I am happy with the auto from a DD point, from a sportier side I wish it had the 6 speed auto that's in my Dad's car.

The 08 Autos were dog slow and Ford changed the final drive ratios for 09+

I don't know what the ratios for 05-07 are.

My stock-power 5spd will do 0-60 in roughly 8 seconds. I'm no "Stig" but I can shift pretty well.

I'm more interested to know how the OP is measuring his 0-60 times?

On topic: A tune is definitely worth the cash if you've already got intake and exhaust mods. Go for it.

I am almost positive you are mistaken on this. The 09+ COUPE SES has a shorter final drive ratio. Not the sedan, not all the models. Only the 09+ Coupe SES.

That would be a fantastic gain. Even .2 .3 would be a fantastic improvement for $400.

A couple of tenths is a fender length.

The 5 speed SES models (coupe and sedan) had a lower final drive ratio. SES had 3.82 and S, SE, SEL had 3.56.

Pretty sure the Autos always had the same ratio.

Ah, from Edmunds on the 2009+
Quote:
On the SES trim, Ford throws in a few exclusives, including dark-painted wheels, a new sport exhaust (which increases horsepower a bit) and a shorter final-drive ratio for the automatic transmission, to improve acceleration.
2010 review
Quote:
The standard transmission on all Focus trim levels is a five-speed manual. A four-speed automatic is available as an option. The automatic on SES coupes is geared slightly shorter for better acceleration. In testing, an automatic Focus coupe went from zero to 60 mph in a lackluster 9.7 seconds.
