Should I take this deal ?[Advice needed] [2012 Titanium]

First of all this is my post and nice to be here..

======

I'm curently planning to buy a car and I decided on getting a second hand Focus and a factory certified one at that.

So I went about shortlisting cars and ended up with the following two.

1) http://saveatfairlane.com/Dearborn-M...-Car/21385694/

Its a 2012 model with 40000 miles on the odo.

And also along with the standard Titanium features has

--> equipment group 401A (HID headlamps, BLISŪ (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert, Rain-sensing wipers and Active Park assist)

--> Titanium Premium package (leather-trimmed seats, six-way power driver seat with manual lumbar, reverse sensing system, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rearview mirror and rear armrest with storage)

-->Winter package and 17" polished wheels.

--> Ext. protection package

Other goodies like moonroof are there..

The sticker price on the car was $17,794 and the final deal as offered till now is $16500 ( taxes and fees apply extra..) with 60 month term at 2.9% and $5000 downpayment.

Is this a good deal, average or am I getting ripped off ?

====
2) the second one is

http://avisford.net/Detroit-Mi/For-S...-Car/21395179/

The sticker price on this one is $19,000.

I've not finalized the price yet..so what would be a good deal for this..

Which one of the following do you folks suggest ? I'm a noob to car purchsing and I would be grateful for the help guys.

Regards,

I woudl also like your folks opinion on these two SE - both are factory certified pre owned - and the amount you think is a fair deal for them. NO need to be correct, I just need your opinions.

And

2) http://northbrothersford.net/Detroit...-Car/20964095/

Thanks

They seem a little high, even for Titaniums. But both of the SEs have the sport package, just for your info

For $19k you'd be pretty close to a new SE in terms of price (after financing and stuff).

You're looking at cars that are $27,000 new for about 60% residual which is about what Ford says they should be worth after 2/3 years on a lease. Now they come with a great CPO warranty, yes the mileage is higher but keep in mind the VIN on one means it was within the first 100,000 12 built.

To compare you can buy a new 2014 titanium sedan with roof, nav, park assist, upgraded wheels, for $22,991.

So decide what you really want as to me I rather get a brand new one for $5,000 more.

Personally I would avoid the first SE listed, as it does not come with SYNC and the nice displays. But thats just my personal opinion.

The first Ti deal seems about average, The second one could come down a little bit.

and to ff.com

For the record, the 2012 Titaniums do not come with HID headlamps lamps. Only the STs come with HIDs!

Thank you Ira for the post.

First of all, I'm a new car buyer (fresh driving license too) and frankly was pretty confused as to whethr go for a new one or a used one. Then I decided to go for a used one so that i could get the features at a lower price.

As for the vehicles mentioned, what in your opinion would be a good deal for them...is $16500 on the higher side and if yes, how much more can i try to bargain ?

Is there any specific reason you said you'd rather go in for the new one...(because as far as i know the new one comes to about $25000 with the features included in this)..

And last question - what are the things I should ask the dealer/check in the car before i sign off on the deal ?

401A does not include HID lights. The pictured car on the linked page only comes with the halogen lamps same as any other Focus, but with the black housings.

401A was the Titanium premium package which included the following options:
Quote:
Titanium Premium Package

• Leather-Trimmed seats with 6-way Power Driver Seat and Manual

Lumbar

• Reverse Sensing System

• Rain Sensing Wipers

• Auto-Dimming (Electrochromic) Rear-View Mirror

• Rear Armrest with Storage

Look at the car.
