3" MBRP Catback 409SS

I recently installed the MBRP 3" exhaust on my ST an thought I'd create a post to let people know how happy I am with it. I'm pretty much just going to lift my post from st.org lol.

I encourage anyone thinking about getting an exhaust to put this on their short list. The fitment was perfect, the tone is great, nice and deep, the volume doesn't get excessively loud (which I was concerned it would). In the cabin cruising at 3000rpm there is no drone until you accelerate, which is normal for a 3" system. Most importantly it passed the wife test, she actually likes the sound when I get on it.

I tried taking a few pics with my busted ass iphone 4 so I'll post them, I am aware they are ugly.

Few more pics.

A couple not so amazing videos. A friend of mine is driving in the second video because I wanted to hear the exhaust from the outside.

Very nice I'm now thinking about doing this but I'm honestly happy my st is quiet and not loud, but I have done the air filter mod on my st recently. It's an improved sound from the blow off valve and you can hear the boots just as you start pressing on the gas not really looking for any gains it was just something I thought up and spent 50 dollars here in the states.. but how much did that all came out to be like money wise and time spent maybe down the road like after I've owned the st at least one year before getting into mods.

I'm glad MBRP is still making stuff for Focis. They were the only ones who made exhaust for the wagon. I couldn't be happier with it. I put it on in 06.

It actually bothered me how quiet the ST was stock, it's a performance car it should have some edge to it.

I bought the exhaust pre-producion so it was about $550 all in plus I paid $80 to have it installed at my local shop. I've done exhausts in my driveway and this is one that definitely needs a hoist so I have no regrets paying the money to have it installed.

What about the install needs a hoist? Just wondering.

On a hoist there is a lot more room to maneuver the stock exhaust out of the rear axle and the new exhaust is pretty snug going through there too. I'm sure you could do it in your driveway on axle stands I just wouldnt want the headache.

Did mine in the driveway with ramps and stands, no issues. A lift makes is easier, but it still can be done.
