Replace Euro Focus MK1 headlamp cover with UK model cover?

Hi folks,

The plastic headlamp cover on our European Focus Mk1 (2004) is broken (we live in France). Looks like I could get one cheaply enough from the UK but very pricey here in France.

A couple of questions:
- Can I replace just the transparent plastic cover, or do I need to replace the entire headlight?
- If I can replace just the cover, can I use a UK part to replace the French part?

Thanks in advance

edit: when I say cover, I mean the forward facing transparent cover (that would have been glass in times gone by).

You could just replace the transparent part but you'd have to find just a cover to replace it with. I don't think they sell them separately from the housing so you may end up just having to buy a whole new headlight anyways.

Thanks Tund...

If I do get a replacement of the entire unit, can I replace a French one with a UK one? Can I adjust the beam to dip to the right instead of the left?

Unfortunately I, as well as most of the members on here, live in the US/Canada so I can't answer that. If you are right hand drive you may want to try and get one from Germany (I believe they are right hand drive as well) Either that or go to a junkyard and pull one.

I doubt you will be able to just swap a UK headlight in with just an adjustment due to the LHD/RHD drive differences. Have you checked any other places in Europe like Germany, Italy etc.?
