I was wondering with the jumper can you turn the fogs off or are they always on with headlights?

You can turn them off, all it does is allow them to be turned on with the parking lights and they stay on with the high beams on. If you turn off the fogs the other lights work like normal.

The inline tucks nicely in the empty area to the left of the relays. Heres some pics...

That is very clean. I like it. I'm gonna try and get to this on the weekend.

My car came with fogs pre-installed, so I hope this works. When I turn my light switch, I can turn it once for just parking lights, and then I can pull it out to turn on the fogs. So it's either parking lights or parking lights with fogs. The second turn turns on the headlights.

So I'm about to attempt this today. Should I screw up... what's the worst that could happen? Blown fuse somewhere?

Ya. I'm gonna need someone with our fuse box to show me this one.. I'm looking through the manual and fog lights aren't even on the engine fuse box list.

I'll check my shop manual when I get off work at about 5:30.

Nothing will happen, all you are doing is bypassing the relay. Just be sure to use large guage wire for the jumper, like you saw in my pics, a inline fuse is perfect. Make sure to use two male connectors crimped on the ends of the inline so they slide into the relay slots nice and snug. Also be sure to use the same amp rated fuse as the fogs use, I believe its a 20. If you use too small of gauge wire for the jumper you can burn it out. The lights and fuses will still b ok but the wire itself will essentialy melt... Use what I did and you will be ok. As far as where the relay is on a MK2, im not sure but when you find it the process will be exactly the same. Good luck!

So update...

There is no relay under the hood for the foglights. It's controlled by a computer signal. So now I need to figure out how to trick the computer by changing the way a circuit is routed. All I know is I need to find some orange/white wires and bring them together...

I installed the fogs after I bought the car and could only find one part of the wiring harness to wire it up so I had to do it off of the wiring book that I bought for my 06. I'm on my phone right now but if you need any pictures if anything from the wiring book let me know. I'll also see if I can take a look at my wiring if it gets a bit warmer and see if I can snap some pics.
