Trunk Lid Liner install

2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan

Skill: Beginner
Time: less than 15 mintues
Tools: None

Parts Needed:
Trunk lid liner: CV6Z-5446404-AA (~$80)
Fasteners: W703915-S300
NOTE: You will need 10 total fasteners. The above package includes 4, so you would need to order 3 packages of fasteners.

The only not so obvious thing was that there are "slits" cut into the liner to allow you to thread the safety open pull through. So don't try to force it through, as if you go in the direction of the slits - it works very easily.

A thank you to #TWENTY for first showing this and documenting so well. Thought I would show my before and after modification - adding a trunk lid liner.

I would assume the benefits here are a more polished and finished look to the trunk. You might also get a little less noise inside the trunk... but most of the time people stuffed in trunks aren't worried about how loud the ride is. :P

LOL! Last time I was hauled in a trunk, they just had me blindfolded. I had to deal with that road noise still. Good to know I can ride in his trunk without worrying :-) Thanks! That does look much better.

Just curious; but I noticed this part and the engine cover part available. Why aren't these on the car from the factory; yet available from Ford? Are they installed on certain trim levels or something?

The engine cover was only on very early production '12 Titaniums, and the trunk liner was standard on SEL and Titanium sedans.

Gotcha. I'm not all that interested in the engine cover, but the trunk liner looks cool. I just thought it was 'weird' that there were these part numbers but they weren't part of the vehicle to begin with!
