Fog lights installed, won't turn on.

I just put in all the pieces required for putting fog lights in a car which didn't have them stock. The fuse, relay, switch and plugged the fog lights in. They won't turn on. The fuse is fine, the bulbs look good, what are the chances of the switch being broken or the relay being bad. Help me.

Slim, are they grounded properly? If you have a muli meter, check to make sure you are getting power, double check your ground. 9 times outta 10 its a bad ground. You can check your relay with a 12 v battery and a multi meter. Good luck.

I will go out and check the ground once the weather clears up. I noticed driving in the dark when I turn the switch to fog lights symbol lights up on the dash. So I don't think it is the switch. I am definitely going to fix the ground.

Hmmm I just put fog lights on my car... But I never ran into any problems. did you check to make sure the clips were clean.. being at the front and open they might have dirt in them.... I know on my last vehicle i had to kick start the relay for my ac to get it to start working... I did this by taking the top off the relay and there was a little bar inside that would get pulled in to make the connection... I just pushed it over with something to make it connect.. it worked after that... but like gav o said a multimeter will let you know if it the fog lights them selves or the wires... It could be the switch ... you never know.. I know with mine it has the option for the fog lights to be on with just the drl (first click over) and with the full lights on (all the way over) But they only work if its all the way over. so even thought the switch pulls on 1 click over the fog lights dont come on untill Its 2 clicks over.. I asked a friend who had stock ones in his old car and he said his was the same... also they wont come on if the high beans are on. I know this all sounds like basic stuff but I didnt know any of it until i got mine in and working and played with it. and i know my old HID kit they HID's only worked when the lights were in high beam mode... IDK hope you figure it out
