Every car maker gets complaints about their infotainment systems. The problems with the MFT are well known and widely reported. A little research before spending 25k goes a long way. If you want to be pissed obout something be pissed about all the rattles this car has.

See what I did there? ;)

True though. MFT complaints are just as well documented. Doesn't make it any better. I have both issues to deal with. . . And rattles . . . Lucky me.

i will agree that ford did not invent the DCT but they did decide to use it in their product and, as such, have an obligation to fix or replace defective units. If it is found to be so bad then the next model year car should have a conventional slush box auto.

If a company does not stand behind their product it speaks volumes about the company.

Solid plan. Throw it in reverse and give him one for me too.

Well engineered automatic > All DCT's. Longevity especially. I have no issues with my Focus's DCT but I'd give it 150,000km before the transmission explodes. The design of any DCT is the same. They should stick to Ferraris and Porsches that need a transmission designed with weight and size reduction in mind to perform.

Ford's DCT isn't any better than an Automatic anyway. It doesn't shift sharp like Audi's DSG, it doesn't really use the power as efficiently at all. IMO, Ford should cut it's losses and ditch the dual-clutch project for a regular auto.

Agree with this 110%. It's really more about how the company responds to the problem. I can't speak for Ford, but I know VW's response was damn near criminal. Basically they denied everything and told their employees (techs included) not to acknowledge it at first. Once it got too big to deny the government had to step in on behalf of the car owners. Then, and only then, did crap start to really get done about it.

I don't see Ford doing this, but I haven't had firsthand experience so

Mr. Funnyman lol. I'm speaking mainly about removing the programmable buttons. I knew about the other problems and didn't care. But the removal of the function of the programmable buttons still irks me. I hate having 2 useless buttons on my steering wheel. I might be just a bit OCD lol.

They probably should have gone with the wet clutch like audi and vw. You can blame the government Cafe standards for the move away from traditional transmissions.

So far they are running the play straightfrom VWs playbook. See the the earlier memos denying the problem and telling the dealer to convince the customer it is all in their head.

If one goes to different car forums, it's pretty apparent that almost all cars have some number of flaws that owners like to complain about, usually justifiably.

There have been posts on here about honda, hyundai, vw, etc.
