Tpms conversion

Has any one tried to swap the valve stem type for the banded type sensor. I have a 2009 focus se with the band type sensor and one of my bands broke and the sensor quit. I would like to use the valve stem type In its place but I cannot find any information on the swap.

IIRC, Ford tpms sensors all work on the same frequency, so the type (band or stem) should be interchangeable.
