mk1 shocks

i'm thinking about shocks today... yes i'm still on springs (spring tech)

i'm wondering if i just get a good set of non adjustables if ill be OK or if i need to *spring* for adjustability to get the firmness i want.

KYB Excel-G series have my attention.. how are they?

I'm wanting to auto-x from time to time. The car is a DD but commute is short and in town i'm ok with it being a little stiff.

also noticed the KYB GR2 not sure the difference

I assume these are good entry level performance shocks?

I'm pricing these sets at around $180 compared to Koni STR $340

i think the koni brand speaks for itself based on my reading but i hadn't heard of kyb until i was surfing the fswerks website.

any advice on these or something else more in my budget would be appreciated.

No1?

I'm hearing non adjustable Kyb are only slightly better than stock and STRs aren't worth the money.

How low do the spring tech, springs drop your car? I'd use Koni yellows or a non adjustable dampers that'll work w/ 2'' drop springs= Eibach pro dampers. Tirerack has them for $289. for the set.

i was just coming over here to say i bought shocks and struts... (kyb agx)

spring tech were sold as a 2" drop they are actually fairly firm for a cheap brand i did some research on them before settling.

i'm on 16's w/45 series tires and my fenders are @ 24" F, 23.5" R

The KYB agx's are good for a 1.5'' drop.
