No more FL2005 filters

Since these are no longer being made by Motorcraft, Ford says to use the FL400 for an SVT Focus. I usually like to use Ford parts when possible but they made 2 different filters for a reason. What's everybody else using?

The 400s is fine but the purolator L-25230 is the direct replacement for the fl2005.

I guess the only thing that worries me is that the FL2005 had an anti drainback valve. Pretty sure the FL1A doesn't.

If it helps, I have been using the FL400S since the Focus was new. That was 10 years and 144,000 miles ago. That was the # in my SVT supplement manual, I didn't realize Ford had revised it and recommend the FL2005.

Do yourself and your car a serious favor and don't use Fram oil filters again. They are cheap garbage at best. You can pick up the motorcraft filter for almost the exact same price and its lightyears better than any Fram.

That article dates back to '99 & I believe they have improved since then.
