DCT clutch replacement?

Purely out of curiosity, does anyone anticipate ever having to replace the dry clutches in a Focus DCT?

Is there even a service procedure yet for this?

I'm not worried about it, just curious.

mines being replaced from the 2nd of feb buddy.

I've gone in for a few reflashes and updates on the computer to fix clutch slips.

Last time they said it had a contaminated clutch removed it an cleaned it essentially, this time the last resort to fix DCT problems i understand is to replace the clutch altogether.

hope that helps

Thank you. Sorry to hear of your difficulty. Sounds like the clutches can be replaced, there is a service procedure for it, and you've had to experience it already.

well its the fourth visit to ford, and i dealt directly with the manager also the fact that they have carried out all the necessary steps flashing and cleaning clutches before actually having to replace the part. Do you have DCT issues?

I have an October build 2014 model. No issues whatsoever. However, I only have approximately 450 miles on the vehicle.

if you do experience something by 3000kms i would suggest asking directly to see if the clutch is contaminated then asking for a clutch replacement, as you would probably have the new flash software already.

no worries man. I first noticed it when i started driving in S and Manual modes. Clutch slipped once, and after that slipped more and more often, the new flash seems to have helped, but id rather be safe getting clutches replaced. Anyway hopefulyl doesnt happen to you

I am taking my car in tomorrow to get my clutch replaced. Service did a reprogramming of the trans and nothing. Plus his Master Mechanic said the seals were leaking and that was an indication that the clutch would have to be replaced. Going to be out for 6 days :(

I have a 2012 SEL hatchback and when I took mine in to have the DCT reflashed for what I thought was minor shift issues, the dealership replaced the whole DCT transmission for me. Since then, I haven't (knock on wood) had any issues with the DCT since the replacement last August. I have put over 5000 miles on the new transmission so far.
