Question Dash panel lights too bright at night....

Okay this is driving me crazy... I have both the MFT screen as well as the info screen set to "auto" dimming mode. The issue I am having is at night when I turn on the headlights the speedometer/tachometer panel lights are WAY BRIGHT. Each time I have to manually turn down the lights to adjust for darkness. When I turn the car off and turn the headlights back on again, BAM too bright again.

Any thoughts??

I agree. These are the brightest dash lights on any car ive owned/driven even when set to their dimmest setting. They need to be darker, esp for country roads with no ambient lighting

I don't find them too bad once I have them dimmed down, it's just driving me insane to have to dim them each time I get in the car at night. I wonder if the "auto" sensor is malfunctioning.

You can turn off the auto dimming feature in the menu, is your off and still bright everytime you turn your lights on?

Yeah mine is too bright as well. Not terrible but kind of annoying. I haven't tried manual yet.

I would think that having it set on auto would mean it would dim at night and be brighter during the day, no?

In the mft options there is an automatic light brightness offset setting. I'd give that a look.

I saw that, but I figured if I offset it too low then it will be too dim during the day.

The automatic brightness in MFT is for the MFT screen only. You will notice it dimming and getting brighter if you drive around on a cloudy day with your lights on. If your gauges are bright every time you turn on the lights I would say something is wrong that needs to be addressed by a dealer.
