sorry if this stated somewhere prior to this page, but what rear bumper is that and (the main question) does it have an exhaust opening on the other side of bumper? (running fswerks set up)

You are correct, there are cutouts on either side for a dual exit setup. I am hoping sometime next year to upgrade the exhaust and do quad exit tips like in the stock photos of this bumper on the european-parts website.

And for clarification this is the Stoffler rear bumper, I ordered it from european-parts.net and received it after ~6 days. After shipping it ran around $480 total. Very happy with this purchase, it is one of the best looking aftermarket rear bumpers I have seen for the mk3 hatchback.

Thanks alot guys! that is a sweet bumper, I'm going to have to look into that. The hardest part about finding a rear bumper is finding something compatible with the fswerks exhaust set up.

Sorry but this looks ok from a distance but I'm not sure if it's the paint job or the parts but the area around the cut out for the tow hook looks quite rough, the missing Ford Logo from the front also draws my attention.

That and the inconsistent gaps between the hood and bumper cover as well as the gap between the fenders and the cover.

As long as you're happy that's all that matters but I can see where corners were cut with the pattern parts vs the o.e. ones.

10/10 for style, minus several million for good thinking - Zaphod Beeblebrox, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy ( Movie 2005)

It cost $330 ish to have a dealer body shop paint and install the cover on my old Focus, so if you had maaco paint the cover, skirts, and rear valance for around $500 then more corners were likely cut.

From what I am told it looks better in person, I agree the tow cover looks like garbage but that's what happens when you order an $8 used part from overseas, the Ford logo will also be in place soon, haven't gotten around to ordering it yet. Compared to an actual ST I am told the gap between the hood and bumper are nearly the same, as for the fender and the bumper I'm not sure, it does definitely look like a gap but I won't know how it looks in person for a few more weeks. All in all I've been told by several friends/family that it looks great, all I can do for now is cross my fingers and hope that is such. Thanks for the constructive criticism, though!

If it isn't perfect then it looks like I will someday swap the parts out to fix it, for now I am happy, though.

I'm glad you're happy with it and were willing to take the risk to be the first to install these replica parts, because now there's a lower cost alternative for those who want the look but don't want to spend o.e. money for o.e. parts.

The gap does not look correct from these photos and this angle. In various places it looks like the hood is adjusted too far down and there is contact rather than clearance to the cover.

For reference from similar angles here is my old car and my ST.

The gap should be fairly uniform between the hood and the bumper cover like this:

A side by side comparison of the o.e. cover on my old Frosted Glass SEL and my current ST when new with both having the same exact gap between the cover and the hood and no issues with rubbing on lights or the cover.

The cutlines at the fender look more ragged as well vs the o.e. part:

No that isn't quite as perfect a fit as my silver ST, but some of that is down to the shop that worked on it vs being on the line.

Not trying to nit pick, but just pointing out what I see. Take it with several grains of salt if you wish. Just detailed areas to look at to see if they can be adjusted to make it look closer to being a great fit.

Enjoy it, once more people start modifying their cars they might actually learn to love them more as well.

Thanks for the photos for comparison. Unfortunately somebody someday was going to be the Guinea Pig on this bumper, I hate that it isn't perfect but at the same time I dont mind. Theres a reason this community is as big and helpful as it is, right? Once I get the car out here to California I am going to see if there is any way to get all the gaps fixed, they aren't terrible though. To anybody that doesn't know the car it will all more than likely go unnoticed, damn our watchful eyes..

By the way, I followed your thread when you had your bumper swapped which turned out great on FG. I had a little inspiration from you to jump the gun and buy this in the first place, I knew I was going to have an ST look someday no matter what.

@suss

You do realize that the quality of the pictures that were posted are not the greatest. So you're making assumptions on pictures that are sub-par. Wait until OP gets clear pictures, then state your opinion.

Not to mention, you're coming from a MK3 that had a ST swap. Not to mention, own a ST. Of course you're going to nit pick.

Quit raining on the mans parade.
