Painted emblem

I purchased some red enamel paint to paint the ses letters on the rear emblem of my 2011 ses. I have been searching for two weeks know for anyone that has done this. I have not found a single person who has even tried this. I will take some pictures once this is done. It shouldn't take to long, however the Father in-law is coming to town this weekend so I doubt I will get it done this weekend. I wanted to try and paint it still attached to the car. The more I look into it though it seems the best idea is to remove it paint it and reattach it. With that said is there a specific double stick tape to use? As i am typing this I am thinking there are probably several fine products at any auto store.

Have you looked into plasti-dip yet, like you mentioned you would in the other thread?

Yes I checked it out but I am looking to just paint the lettering. I guess I could plasti-dip it red and peel everything but the letters.

Yep. It's been done on here in black.
3M tape is great for sticking stuff back on. But I think it would be a nightmare with those letters.

Just curious, what color is your car?

Car is ingot silver, Trying to do just those three small letters with plati-dip could be annoying and the enamel would be quick with a very thin brush from my wife's art supplies.

Thin brush & steady hands will do the trick. Take it off the car to do it correctly. It's very easy to take off and just as easy to put back on with some 3M tape.
I removed my SE badge, and had no clue what to do with it after I painted it every color possible then just left it chrome and placed it on the front of the car under the grille. Once I get some time, I plan on taking it off and giving it some green to carry on the black/green theme I got going.
