Roush Performance Intake Kit review

The Kit overall is a very straight forward install. takes about 30minutes if you have trouble getting the bolts out of the stock intake box cover.

The filter is nothing more than a green filter with red paper and a Roush logo plated on the outside. the box lid is actually a quality piece and is made form the same material as the factory box. the rubber was flexible and easy to install on the air box and does seal to the hood.

Overall performance is definitely a increase. I would probably rate this intake as my second favorite, Steeda being my first and K&N 57s as my third. the noise Level is equal to the Steeda and is louder than just the green filter in a stock box.

Gas Millage is a definite increase and I have been averaging 38.7 since the install, I have used 2 full tanks of gas since install. I average about 40-45 mph on my 85 mile commute to work and back.

Dyno time to come tonight. Enjoy the Pics for Now

Good review and it looks like a good addition-both functional and able to be shown. Subbed for numbers.

I have a question and it’s not only about this intake filter. It is about all open box intake filters in fact. What do you do guys when snow has come and the temperature goes bellow 0 C ? Is it possible that condensed water from the hood gets to the intake filter ?

For the rest, it looks sharp and I think it's better than the Steeda, because the filter is fixed at both ends.

Any kind of filter open to the elements will be subjected to anything the environment will throw at us. I ran an open filter on my srt4 for 7years and my evo for 4years and I have not once had a problem with water or anything.

I know the guys on the srt4 and Evo forums use what are called Element Pre-Filters to protect there filter and keep it clean.

As far as 0 degrees goes I do not see those kind of those days.

My only concern would be that water could collect in the airbox and since the airbox has no drain I feel it would destroy the filter if it sits for a prolonged period. that is my only concern and for something like that to be realistic I would probably have to submerge the car.

Thank you for your answer, Creative. I was more concerned because up here, when the temps drop up to -20 C or worse in winter, it is posible to have some condense building up. I do keep my car in a garrage and this is where my concern come from.
