Awful Day

Well, I walked out of my house today to find my car had been hit quite hard in the left rear corner during the night. The jerk who hit me decided to be a coward and not leave a note, all I know is that he has a Nissan Rogue. Anyway here are some pics of the car do you think its a write off?

People are jerks.

I believe that at least one mk3 focus had similar looking damage and wasnt a write off. You should see at least one before/ after paint match by your body shop to see if they are up to the task. It'll save time.

Man, that sucks! Interesting debris pattern, with more parts behind the car....
It doesn't look like a total loss, unless there is lots of hidden damage, such as a bent frame. Good luck, Robert.

Well the Ford dealer I work at has a body shop, and I know they do great work so I took it there. My biggest fright is that I owe 24,000 on the car, but realistic market value is about 12-13K. If they write that off, will I basically lose my a$$?

How did you find out what kind of car hit you?

Well, I'm not quite sure whether I have that or not. Will have to speak with the insurance company, what does that cover? And to answer how I know what car hit me, the other guy left enough of his car behind that the cops could identify the make/model right away. He must have done a fair bit of damage, the pool of fluid in the photo is his coolant.

Really sorry to hear this. What the f^%* is wrong with people?

I'm the one who had a similar thing happen a couple months ago to my new 2013 grey Focus. Mine was a hit and run while it was parked, but they did far less damage. It cost $4200 to fix, but they did an incredible job. Your damage is much worse so it's clearly going to be more, but I don't know how much.

Here's the thread:
