P1131 and P1132

Coming back from work a few weeks back I got a CEL and pulled over to check it. Came up as P1131 and P1132, running rich and running lean at the same time. Not sure if this is even possible, maybe it is. Either way, I've tried replacing the plug wires, replacing the o2 sensors (which were replaced maybe 3,000 miles before the car started acting up), checking for vacuum leaks (didn't find any), cleaning the MAF sensor, plus a few other things. Nothing seems to work and I'm starting to run out of ideas.

The car seems to run fine during the day, but when I'm driving to school in the morning is when it really runs terrible. It idles a little worse than what is should but not terrible, maybe running a few rpm lower than it usually does. When I'm driving down the road it seems really low on power and shakes and sputters like it's wanting to die out. Started getting to the point to where I could barely keep it running and go up hills. Then all of a sudden, I guess when it gets to a certain temperature, it somehow seems to fix itself and run fine.

I can't seem to figure it out since it only does in the morning (when it's cooler, maybe 60-70 degrees out) and runs fine once it warms up. Anybody have any ideas? I'm currently waiting for some free time to call SCT and see whats up with Livelink so I can send another datalog to Tom.

I recently had the timing belt replaced at 129k miles before I went to FF13 and it seemed to run fine then. I haven't done anything or added any mods since then so that's another reason why I'm stumped. I read the VCT solenoid needs to be done right when the timing belt is replaced, could it be that the shop didn't adjust the solenoid?

I do, but Livelink keeps freezing a few seconds into the datalog every time I try. I'm going to try to call SCT if I have some free time tomorrow.

If you did an update to the xcal3 firmware there is a known issue and they can take over your laptop and go back to a previous firmware and it works fine datalogging

Hey I've been having the same problem for months, cleaned k&n, MAF sensor-replaced MAF sensor, cleaned TB, replaced PCV valve and tubing, new fuel filter, fuel system cleaner a couple times(Lucas and Royal Purple), new o2 sensor, and a thermostat(cause it was time). Just cannot seem to get a hold on the problem!

Took it to the dealer and they said my car was "too highly modified." They were talking about the stock header. Idiots. going back in the morning to pick it up.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I actually haven't updated LiveLink since I downloaded it about a year ago. So I might not have the latest update.

Sucks to hear man, I've also replaced the air filter, and pcv valve and hose. Was going to try some fuel cleaner and replacing the fuel filter too. Sometime next week I was probably going to take it to a local shop and see what they can do.

Couldn't hurt I guess. From what you said it sounds like the datalog didn't seem to turn up much.

Seems the issue is the front O2 sensor is grounding out somewhere in the engine loom, causing the erratic behavior of the fuel trims. They don't have any harnesses available to buy. So I'll replace the pigtail and follow the harness up as far as it goes, checking for tight bends and spots that will rub or get too hot. Probably not a fun job.

Thought I'd update. Yeah you were right Quick6, the front o2 sensor wire had rubbed, burned, or was cut through right at the bell housing of the transmission, right above where it plugged into the sensor itself. So far it seems to be running good without any problems or CEL's!
