I started knocking out some rust about two weeks ago. Also some weight reduction.

Dude, your front passenger can "Flintstone" the car with a hole that big! That's a lot of rust in the floor pan.

This looks absolutely insane. You have rust where I would've thought no rust could possibly be!!

Good for a speed boost off the line

haha yeah. well theres a good 6" hole that's occupied by a drain plug... the area around it rusted and the plug came out with the insulation. but it is still some good rust there. I guess water ran in from the worn seal above the window.

Agreed... though now that I have finished a Photoshop of what I mostly want it to look like, I can say it's worth it.

That is alot of rust but thats part of the fun of restoring an older vehicle right? Living where you are though good rust free body parts or parts cars shouldnt be too far away. Or maybe they make repros. I'm not too familiar with these cars but good luck with the restomod. Hope it turns out quite well. Keep the progress coming.

Thanks. Apparently Denver is where all of these go to die. Speaking of which, that's where I'll be getting my rocker panels from. Good used panels run about $70 each which is well below what I expected. ordering the front fender from a reproduction place along with possibly a lower door skin panel. I'll make the rest on my own.

The only crappy thing about this is I'm moving in a month so I have to shift my attention to the currently very-disabled Focus in my garage. I now have four cars, so placement is a little tricky. AND my hours at work have been cut, though I suspect they will go up more than ever soon.

I will be painting this car orange though.

It sucks moving and having project cars. Luckily I had a willing co-worker move both mine for me for free. Even though I insisted on paying.
