A Focus would make a good detective's car, a stakeout car, or some sort of urban 'beat' vehicle... But as far as pursuit/arrest/tactical use, nope.

Now that cops have a Ford Interceptor out there its a different ball game since that car is a tank and equipped with AWD and a turboed V6?
Many agencies are nowadays discouraging "hot pursuits" unless absolutely and unavoidably necessary. This may be why the majority of the Tauriceptors are being procured in the NA version rather than the Ecoboost.

The 00-07 Taurus were EXTREMELY popular for that.

Pretty much all of the larger municipalities and counties up here have a fleet for detectives.

as someone that may or may not have been in the back seat of a full size cop car,I can say for a certainty that I would not fit in the back seat of a focus cop car!!

You also gotta keep in mind. In these other counrtys that use a focus as a cop car they are chasing down chickens crossing the road, with the occasional Kia car chase.

Here your chasing down a 2 ton pickup truck, or stolen mustang, camaro, corvette, cadillac, ect. with the occational shot out.

Not for the narrow streets of Europe, and besides @ 252 hp (Focus ST give or take), the Crown couldn't come close in an acceleration contest. The only battle the CV would win would be durability.
