That's a nice looking enclosure. Do you have a part number for that? I like that setup, and have a feeling it will be less expensive than having one built to my specs, or building my own.

the box is volume is only .35 cubic feet

make sure you get a sub that works with that, or just use the pioneer shallow mount subs

here's a sub that could work

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...SearchClickout[query_id]=6869988&SearchClickout[Ignore]=1

but it's minimum volume is 0.4 cubic feet, slightly over that the pioneer's call for

I have been reading up on this thread and have booked marked it so I can go back and read up on this install. I will doing this soon but wanted to ask about where to tap in signal for the sub/amp setup in the trunk. I haven't quite decided on door speakers but I will be using the Alpine KTP-445U Amp and Parrot harness adapter. I have looked into getting the LCI2 for the rear sub output but where should I tap into the rear speakers for the input into the LCI2. Should I tapped into them directly out of the HU or after the in indash Alpine amp? Also I know that there is some mixed opinions on this but I currently have a Rockford Fosgate Amp that has a high level speaker input. Could I just use that instead of spending the cash on the LCI2. I also have been told that the Focus tends to lower the bass output the higher the volume level so apparently the LCI2 adjust the bass level. Also as far as my sub set up I will only be installing 1 Kicker L5S10 sub.

As it stands with the Alpine 445U, Parrot harness, Alpine PLT-5 powered sub & stock door speakers I'm quite happy. Will surely improve once I get the door speakers replaced. I have the LCI2 tapped after the 445 amp and it's nice that the bass don't fade out past the 18 mark on the HU vol level.

I like it All these new vehicles do not have just a simple head unit surrounded by a bezel anymore. It awesome you kept the factory look with such an improvement!

Thanks Lite12! So you ended up wiring in the LC2I after the alpine indash amp? Did you tap off the rear speaker outputs out of that amp? Or did you tap in the rear door area? Im still not sure if ishould use the LC2I or the high level inputs on my amp. But I think the sound would be better with the LC2I.

I just split the output of the dash amp with a set of crimp on connects (prewired) for later use(that I have now used) to run to the sub amp. I just ran the wires from the HU/dash amp along the door sills while I was running the amp wiring to the rear.
