Roush CAI for non-ST

I was poking around Roush's website the other day and saw that they have a CAI available for us non-ST guys!

http://www.roushperformance.com/part...ir-Intake.html

I sent them an email asking about performance specs but sadly they do not give out that information because of the inconsistency of dyno testing.

Moved to DURATEC Ti-VCT Performance (2012-2013).

Fwiw, I really like the concept of this and wonder how it will perform. I like that it integrates both of the OEM feeds, seals to the hood, and still provides a good look. Someone should get this on the dyno

Yeah I saw that on here somwhere the other day. It's an interesting concept for sure. I just can't pay that much for so little. I think it should at least have larger runners like the ST has.

It was posted in the Roush Focus thread.

I don't think larger runners would benefit this application considering the fact that it's an open filter. The majority of the air is going to be taken in from the area of least resistance. They will mainly come into play when the vehicle is at speed and the pressure difference forces the air through them.

As for the price, I think it is relatively fair. I'm sure a fair amount of work has gone into designing the lid, and this is probably the best OEM integration of any intake I've seen that could also function well in a show-capacity. If they had a plug for the end, I would gladly trade my Steeda kit for this.

You could use the K&N drop in with the plug on the end and still be cheaper then the FR ram air kit... LOL

It's going to be difficult for this to be cheaper than the Ford Racing CAI / snorkel and k&n filter.

http://www.trueblueracingparts.com/2...KIT_p_362.html

It is available from places like these guys for less than $180, which is less than the cost of the airbox lid and filter for the base Focus from Roush.

There was also a group buy that's currently in the purchasing and shipping phase that would bring that kit down below $160 shipped.

Of course why the ST spec roush CAI lid/filter is more open and costs $299 vs $197 or so for the base model when they use the same air box is beyond me.
