Nope. You can pull the engine with the trans still in the car. Just keep a jack stand under it.

ok thats what i thought.

,umm on the passenger side the half shaft, i think its called, is mounted to the engine witha bracket, i took the round peice (half) off the bracket, and i going to have to remove the whole bracket or will i be able to slip it around it?

also where is the best place to disconnect fuel line? that crap has my mind boggled and please done say the whole fuel rail has to come off.....

note to self and others do not attempt this swap alone lol.

IIRC you can just simply unbolt the bracket off the back of the block and let the half shaft stay where it is. You don't need to take any of the shafts out.

The fuel line just take off at the fire wall. The line that runs down the wall stays and will reconnect with the zetec in the same spot. If I don't have any in my write up I've got some pics of the engine bay on my fb page. To help with some referance. Ill post some up when I go to break to 5. I'm at work right now, on my phone.

Thanks that kinda helped. At least the bracket part. Still a little confused on the fuel line but im sure I will figure it out should be pulling engine tomm. And possibly heading to the junk yard to gey
t the replacement.

When you got your new engine did you have to give them your old one?
