If you have a auto, you won't need anything from it for the zetec. Everything is the same. But if you wanted to do a zetec auto it is geared different. But the spi auto will work just fine.

Yes you will need the zetec ECU. Once everything is installed, you will need to take the car to a dealer, they can reflash your spi keys to the zetec ECU.

So I wont need the flex/pressure plate from the zetec for the swap?

you said the car needs taken to the dealership, will I ha ve to tow it?

And last but not least how vital is it for the years of the 2 cars to match.up or will any zetec from 00-04 match up?

Sorry you will need a zetec flexplate. Yes, you will need to tow it.

Lastly since you have a 00 I would try to stick with 00 to 02. Half way through 02 they made some changes in the throttle and wiring. Although you can still use a throttle body from a 03 to 04 as long as you have the matching throttle cable fot it.

Once you get things gathered up and start work. Maybe me and the wife can swing by and I can give you a hand. Me and her are due for a trip to hocking hills anyways.
