Intake, down pipe, and exhaust

Does anybody have an intake, down pipe and exhaust? Are you throwing codes? I asked my dealer about a tune and he said it would void the warranty?! So I just need to know if I can do these three things without any issues. Thanks guys!

Anything you do to your car will "void" your warranty on any part of the vehicle that that modification breaks. The manufacturer will take any chance to void your warranty.

The dealer doesn't "void your warranty" however, they can deny your warranty claim.

In other terms, you could put lowering springs on your car which caused your shocks to prematurely wear, and fail. Your dealer can deny your warranty claim on your shocks because of your modification.

However, lets say your engine blows 2 days later (bad week for you) your warranty isn't magically gone. As long as you haven't modified anything related to the failure, the dealer should warranty the item.

If you have been busted and denied, it wouldn't surprise me if you caught more heat from then on out though.

Hard parts are the same in your dealer's eyes as a software tune when it comes to warranty work unless you remove them before service.

If you want to make power, get a tune. With the stock ECU torque targets you won't make any power with added parts until you're tuned.

But a tune will definitely mess the warranty up if anything goes wrong with the motor...right? I'm sorry to sound like a dumba**

Fwiw, I had a camvap arbitration hearing last Thursday, ( Canadian lemon law) and the ford representative tried to use any service work preformed at a non ford dealership against me. Luckily I had no work done at non ford dealers. He did question the validity of oil being added at a ford dealer out of Provence. If they choose to deny your claim for any reason you will have a fight on your hands

But it's the easiest thing to swap back, without a trace anything was done.

Not as far as I know. As long as you flash back to the stock tune.
