What cell phone works best with myFord Touch?

My 2014 SE Sedan is on order. Currently I have a dumb phone. Looking to upgrade and want to make sure I get one that can take full advantage of my new cars sync system.

Please no arguing, just recommend and tell me why.

Here is some info to consider...

I wear hearing aids, that support Bluetooth.
I am currently on Verizon.
The sound system in the car will be the myFord Touch Sony.
Probably talk less than 100 min a month
Get 5 or so texts a day.

As stated above, I currently have a dumb phone. No data plan. I am willing to upgrade to smart phone if needed (with data) - not so much concerned about the $, but as you can see, not sure I would really use it.

Are their some dumb phones out there that support Bluetooth and texting through sync?

Thank you in advance...

This is going to help you out quite a bit in terms of compatibility:

http://support.ford.com/sync-technol...atibility-sync

Make sure to hit "view details" to view the specifics. Don't miss that part.

My previous car (a Nissan) wouldn't pull the address book properly from a new Android phone (LG Ally). However, it would pull it from a "dumb phone" like yours courtesy of Straight Talk.

Yeah I have looked at that. My confusion was that under Verizon, there were still many phones. I was hoping to get some in the trenches reports. Thank you for that reference.

Not loyal to Verizon, so if a particular phone (not avail on V) was better, I would have no problem switching.

honestly, as a Ford Service Advisor. Most Droid phones work well. The iPhone 3,4 and 4's have some issues. The iPhone 5 is good with the system for the most part.

From what I have gathered, there are some issues with certain iPhones and Android phones whereas the Windows 8 phones seem to consistently work well in terms of compatibility with MFT functions and features.

FWIW, I have a Symbian phone (Nokia) that works well, including text messaging, contact photos, etc.

My iPhone 5 works very well with the system, since the most recent update. Prior to that, sometimes the Bluetooth failed to connect, and I ended up having to reset the system and start over. (3-4 times in 6 months)

My wife and I both have samsung galaxy S3's and I have the MFT in my 12 ti and she has it also in her 13 escape ti. Both phones work flawlessly on the My Ford Touch system and texting works too. And since the GS4 is out now the S3's can be had for 100 bucks or less.

I went with a Window 8 based phone and know of other who use windows phones and all have 100% compatibility and no connection issues...just make sure on which ever phone you buy that is has the capabilty that you want...MFT can not make a phone do things in the car that it cant do on its own
