Take a look at one of my threads. I made a billet aluminum battery tray for my car. Very doable. As far as the charge pipe goes, unfortunately, I can't weld aluminum. I could design one and mock it up for someone else to weld though. I can however weld steel, so if that's an option, I can do that.

Thread has been around for a few months, just took some time to take root.

Will be looking to maybe do this later this year. Nice work.

Now about that Duratec style aluminum battery tray. Like PumkinSvt I would like to move my battery to where the Duratecs have theirs.

I just need to know where that is, and I can make it happen.

The Duratecs have their battery mounted where the airbox is in ours; over the drivers side engine mount.

Just noticed you have a Dirt Brown Kona. Sadly I totaled mine 2 years ago. Still have a pic of it as my avatar :)

Oh! I can totally figure that out. I'll start figuring out that mount right away. It's gonna take some modification to the power cables.

Trust me, fate has been trying to take out my Kona for years! Just a couple months ago, I had another car try to beat traffic and hit a bicyclist INTO my car and caused $1400 worth of damage!

Upcoming projects that I plan to make available:

Billet battery tray for mk1

Billet battery tray to put battery in duratec location.

Custom shift cables to replace squishy mtx-75 cables with poly, delrin, and brass bushing options.

ORP for SVT header with Zetec flex.

Tell me what you guys think!

Hey guys, starting to get a lot more interest, if I can do some more of these re-drills, then I can fund some R&D on the duratec location billet battery tray.
