400 lbs, 15 inches shorter and 6 inches narrower. It's gonna be the size of a Focus...

I'm so excited. A 2.3L Ecoboost Mustang with track-pack goodies (if they offer a package like that) may just be my next car. Debating keeping the SVT and having the Stang versus going solely with Fiesta/Focus ST.

The front end is pretty much what everyone has expected: Cues from the Evos concept while still being instantly recognizable as a Mustang. Success. The rear end is said to be the game-changer, still have no idea what that's going to look like.

That's the best part. Finally getting back to sports car size, not land yacht size. These spy shots certainly show that the body of the car is much smaller than the camouflage suggests. Most of the size difference is going to be due to reduced front and rear overhang. Which got me thinking: if they reduce the rear end size, the trunk will be tiny with a traditional trunk opening. Wonder if they would consider a *gasp* hatch liftgate, like the Foxbodies?

at first, I thought you might be crazy.... but after looking at the 2013 taurus, I think you are spot on.

It is hard to tell with all the camo, but the fronts do look strikingly similar

At least they defusioned it a little bit. Was afraid it was gonna look too much like a two door fusion. Which isnt a bad thing except that I think the Mustang should be a little more special than a fusion. I trust Ford to notch butcher the design. The current design is pretty nice, I didnt care for the rear ends on the 09-12s but glad they changed it to the current set up. Looks down right good although I'm curious how many mustang owners have gotten pulled over for the tail lights lol. Ive been pulled over before for the tail lights on my focus and they arent that dark. Just a thought

After eyeing my car and doing some measuring, I'm hard pressed to believe they are going to lop off 15" (as is being bantered around) the current platform. There's not exactly a large front overhang as it is, so it would all have to come out of the wheelbase and/or rear overhang.

I'm all for reduced weight and more efficient packaging, don't get me wrong. The current car's packaging isn't exactly great, so any change in that regard would really be welcome.

Totally agree...I wouldn't have ever considered a Camaro. Though I've only driven a couple we've taken in on trade, there is no way I'd ever live with one day in/day out. The Mustang is at least pretty doable for what it is.
