Got about 12400 miles on my set and the only visible wear is the slight feathering along the edges due to my occasional hard cornering. Of course not as grippy as my Michelin Pilots on the STI but they do ride a bit better and they have been a ideal tire for the Focus.

Thats not the fault of the tires. It would of happened to any tires.

Any of you with the DWS's talk about the winter driving with these? I'm going to be needing new tires before winter.

If you have to drive in more than a few inches frequently I'd suggest something a little more aggressive in the white stuff but the DWS is ok for light snow.

I have them & had the Conti extremes before. For a a/s tire they work great. Yeah you give up corning in the summer, but it is a a/s tire, so thats a giving.

Put a set on the back of the GT this past January in 295 width. Wife seems pleased thus far and they are very good in rain (reason I bought them). You can blow them off with 250hp in a Mustang...but for an overall tire they're nice. Replaced BFG KDW2.

Still haven't seen snow with these yet on my Subaru but drove through one hell of a rain storm that left the roads with a decent bit of water due to the amount of rain and had no issues with hydroplaning at all even at 50mph. I finally had to pull off because the rain got so hard I couldn't even see past the wiper cowl. If these perform at least as good as the Bridgestones I had last winter I will be happy.

The Bridgestones I had, had several flaws. They were very heavy tires compared to the DWS. (I gained 2mpg by switching.) The compound was very stiff in winter making ice traction non-existent and driving in wet snow was terrible as well. Powdery snow and slush was no problem. I don't expect much better on ice without going to a true winter tire but I hope it is a little better in wet packing snow.

Last year I drove to Holiday Valley NY to ski in a big snow storm and the tires got me there but it got pretty hairy in a few spots.

The DWS is significantly quieter than the Bridgestones I had. I actually got rid of the tires due to the road noise. I had 30k miles on them and probably had another 60k in life left on the tread but the noise was so bad I couldn't stand it. It was like going from an 80's Honda Civic to a new Luxury car in terms of road noise. I currently have about 8k miles on the DWS and they still are as quiet and smooth driving as day one.

I always do 6k tire rotations.

I just bought my 04 SVT EAP recently and needed new tires. I live in northern Minnesota, so an all season tire is a MUST.

I've had the Extreme Contact DWS on past vehicles I've owned and bought the DWS new for.. 2001 Audi A4 Avant Quattro and 2004 Volvo XC90. So, when I needed new tires for my SVTF, I didn't hesitate and went with the Extreme DWS. I bought them today... Looking forward to driving on them this winter!
