QFT!

I really like this one, Steve Cross's Focus. Really reminds me of the old-school mini trucks. Everything about it is completely custom and unique, but it all has been done before.

Not very original but just not my type of enthisuast and those that like to turn their cars into rolling circuses (attention whores) while at the same time hindering any semblance of or original intended performance/comfort for the purpose of looks. That's almost the definition of "rice".
But hey, everybody has to be different but some customizations do get a bit extreme and in a lot of cases doesn't age well and as time passes some look very silly.

I think when it comes to being original. It has to do with the subtle mods that not everyone will notice. I think it comes down to wheel choice and fitment and stance.

Stance is a word that is thrown around but not very many people use it correctly. In the focus community and most of the car world stance is slammed on its nuts with stupid camber and streatched tires. But in reailty it just makes the car look stupid and makes the owner look like they know nothing about offset.

Stance is a good over package that involves a perfect wheel tire package and a ride height. Not everone pulls that off the few here who has like Blake (dirtbikerider), Nick (nickgt40), Wobb, Ryan (svt1391), Josh (zx360), dyn085, ect. Their cars are originals, and unique.

Something I would like to classify myself as in the next couple years. I keep a clean build, with subtle mods only a focus enthuisest would notice, with wheels that make my car stand out to the point everyone knows be by them. But done correctly that I'm not another one of those guys.

Well, not since someone bought your plasti-dipped wheels...
(that have since been undipped lest anyone get the wrong idea about me!)

Personally, I appreciate subtle OEM+ cars more than custom hack-jobs. It's easy to have bad taste and throw money at a car. It takes a little more thought to keep it classy and make meaningful modifications.

on a more serious note, I think my wheels are too... not a whole lotta gold Pro Race 3s out there

IMO, "originality" is hard to achieve because using common bolt-on mods is easier, cheaper, and less intimidating than custom fabrication... it's just an easier pathway to take which still produces solid results. it's comforting to know that parts have been engineered to work on your particular car and others on the forums have experience with them - there's a wealth of knowledge here.

An SVT with a JRSC kit, full bolt-ons, and sticky tires might be a bit unoriginal in terms of parts selection, but the end result isn't exactly something to sneeze at. maybe it can't compare with a custom built, one off track monster, but it's still an effective package
And a person should never judge a book by its cover should they?
Why don't ypu give your opinion, then the old timers that know the car can chime in ;)
