WoW... totally missed one of my mods, that you can see in the newer pics ...

The Ram Flex leg seat bolt mount and tough tray for my netbook... *sigh* the joys of using my car as a mobile office...

And showing how close it comes to the shifter, without actually being in the way!

And if you guys are wondering, yes, i am a HUGE fan of the Ram Mounts, they hold things TIGHT, and I do mean TIGHT! Ill see if i can find the youtube vid where they detonate an airbag right behind one of their mounts to try and break the mount....

Anymore information on the dash cam? I have thought of investing in one myself from time to time.

dashcam was from ebay, will edit this to include the ad (if i can find it again) and some pics/vids when i get home from work. Was like $80 or so, and includes a front facing cam and SEPARATE (not integrated) rear cam. It works fine once its recording, but the battery doesnt last very long and to be honest, it REALLY doesnt like calgary cold. But the video looks good, provides the detail I want and really, its plugged in all the time so the battery not lasting isnt an issue.

OK! so, as promised (kinda) some info and vids!

First, The dashcam i purchased was This One!

Car-DVR-720P-Dual-Separate-Lens-Dashboard-vehicle-Camera-Video-Recorder

I will note that while the front camera is 720, the rear camera is VGA.... Im actually in the process of pricing out a proper mobile dvr setup... (ill add a video from the cam to my youtube after the first half of my split shift, just need to get some better video)

And the ram mount airbag detonation video! ;) Awwww yea....

Alrighty, more pics!

So, finally got my shifter bezel and climate controls out and covered. Im satisfied with it, tho, as you can see in a couple of the pics, its wrinkled/bubbled in a couple places.

Only thing left is to pull the steering wheel airbag assembly and remove the automatic shifter knob so they can be covered as well.

DASHCAM!!!

So, there has been some interest in my dashcam setup, so ive taken a pic or three of how ive got it placed and how visible it is from outside. Havent yet had a chance to go through and find some decent video thats not completely dull, but ill take of that hopefully in the next day or two. With that said, PICTURES!!

Front facing camera from outside, this image is zoomed in as much as my point-n-shoot cam can, mostly so you can actually see it, if i zoom out, its really hard to see if you arent looking specifically for it.

Front cam, from inside.

Rear Cam from inside.

Nope, there isnt a pic of the rear cam from outside because, suprise surprise, YOU CANT SEE IT!!! I maxxed out the zoom on my camera, and it was still so well hidden that id have to zoom it even further just to get it visible. The cable for the rear cam was run through the headliner via the overhead lighting and out via the notch in the headliner where the electric mirror cable would have run.Anyways, Ill add the videos once i have a chance to go through all of them and find something interesting.

EDIT: I should make note, on the top pics, you can see one of the little silicone mats i got on ebay for the bottoms of the pockets. It was an eleven peice set (ive only managed to use 9, cant figure out where the other two go) in black with blue trim. They fit perfect and keep the dust and dirt contained.

If I saw this car, aside from the vinyl, I'd assume it's an undercover patrol car. lol

I really like how you have useful mods, though. I've considered a dashcam as well.

Thanks! Ironically, my boss wanted to do exactly that, but didnt wanna pay compensation for all my driving :p

Yea, im all for useful mods, especially on a daily driver type vehicle. If you are thinking about a dashcam, i highly recommend getting one, for the C. Y. A. protection, should something happen.

That's a neat little camera setup. you will have to do a write-up if you build a more detailed DVR system at some-point. For that much money it would be well worth the thousands you could save on an insurance claim!

Thats exactly my thought as well... Like, its pretty darned hard to argue with a video... "Oh, he said that's what happened eh? Well, officer, come take a look at some video.........."

Yea, a full-on mobile DVR setup is on the agenda, but finding the right setup is the hard part. I know where i can get Law-enforcement grade video systems, but im not really willing to drop $2500 for the dvr and then another 3-400 for camera's.... Im presently designing a four camera setup, front and rear, similar to what ive got, and then two side facing camera's, pointed across the interior to see the opposite sides... Anyway, right now, im looking at around 3-400 for the dvr setup, but i will most definately do a full write up if i do get it.
