I know the feeling. When I bought mine I was dead set on an import based on how great my 93 Corolla was, but I was disappointed on how little the Toyota had advanced. A local dealer 5 minutes from home had an SE I was going to look at, but it had sold so I looked at the SES instead. I had ignored it on their website because it had no pictures but man, seeing it in person and driving it I was sold. Very disappointed in the finish issues with the wheels but I agree they are great bang for the buck cars and fun to drive.

Yes they are fun to drive. I think I got a good deal on this 2008 2 door coupe 5 speed with under 60,000 miles for $6500!

I dont really think the automatic is that much slower, lol. Anyone that knows cars also knows that autos have more potiential in straight lines. They're also 16 second cars... ill give you that its peppy, and my auto is one of nicest performing autos I've driven yet, very smooth and fast responding. My Z28 is very choppy and the downshifts are harsh.

General knowledge on cars tells me that the stick can't be that much faster and I have... its like any other manual car.

If we lived closer I'd be willing to race stock vs stock sedan vs coupe auto verse manual. I liked the manual but I live in a big city.

I think the styling of the MK2 fits everyone and is a very solid built car.

There's no doubt in my mind that this car would have had HUGE praise across the board if it had a H badge on it.

I drove an auto focus that could have passed for my car's twin.

It did feel a bit more sluggish, but to me, that was a combination of the electronic throttle and automatic transmission ... either of those would make a car feel sluggish.

Only real complaint is I kept trying to shift it and pressing the brake pedal to the floor.
