If only if only, the poor carbuyer sighs.

All taped up, just under 11k miles. We'll see what happens.
COME ON you could of at least got some cool looking duct tape. Walmart has a whole section of nothing but sweet looking tape. Neon, zebra, camo, you name it.

A lady at work told me her focus was hesitating really bad and the throttle felt laggy and I opened the hood and actually seen a gap in hers too. I didn't tell her thats what the problem was, I simply said to take it in to the ford store and let the warranty deal with it. I changed my intake the day I got my car, what a crappy set up lol.

This could have been a cheap, simple recall for Ford but instead here is a thread showing everyone how to tape up their brand new car.

Everyone here (who has run into the DCT issues) works hard for their money and should be extremely upset about how they have been treated.

If this was anything else you bought, you'd just return it for credit.

This definitely isn't a placebo. Since I purchased my Focus in February I've always had an issue with bucking and hesitation at low RPM. The last few days I have noticed that the issue hadn't been occurring for some reason.

Then I remembered reading this thread late last Thursday night and going to tape it up (I had a huge gap, should have used my micrometer to check before taping).

You see, I read this thread after taking my Ambien and totally forgot doing it. The fact that I noticed a difference without knowing I did the tape pretty much takes the placebo effect out of the equation imo.

This is some terrible engineering from Ford and I can't believe an FSB hasn't been issued at this point.

I am glad this thread got bumped up. What a horrible design! When I went out and looked, sure enough I have a huge gap there. I will be addressing this (and the snorkel delete) after I get my new RMM in :)

You have a gap similar to mine, which means terrible! I really think the tape helped. I recommend black so it looks less fishy if a mechanic is ever under hood. I guess with the snorkel delete you aren't too concerned about that.

I actually do not think I am going to use duck tape. I think I am going to expound upon the idea of using weather stripping as someone else did in this thread. My plan is to remove the rubber piece from the car and stick something like this on both the top and bottom seals. When this wraps around the plastic hoses it should compress and give a tight seal all around, or at least that is my theory. Thoughts?

I used rope caulk. Seals well, stays pliable, and easy to remove.
