I wouldn't worry about it, but FSW sells a prefilter for the filter if you want to be extra cautious when using it.

Has anyone worked with the 57i? How would it compare to the FSwerks or a CFM CAI? Are they all the same and I should just pick one?

Opinions please.
k&n = crap.
THey are known to allow too many particles through.

I've got an 07 and that was the same thing showing up for me also. So I called them and they hooked me up with the FIPK that would fit . And I've had mine on since I got the car and have never had any issues with heat soak or any other problems.

For a intake, I'd say it depends on where you live. SRI for wet, rainy days. CAI for the dryer climates.

not sure how much help the prefilter will be to prevent hydro lock.. hydro lock is typically happening once the entire filter is submerged, not sure a hydrophobic bag will stop it.

There are some neat videos on youtube that show bypass valves in action but it will give you an idea what goes into hydrolocking.

So if I get the FSWerks Cool-Flo green CAI and install it on my (stock height) 09 SE, I shouldn't have to worry too much about hydrolocking? I wouldn't drive through a huge puddle anyways hahaha

yeah you should be good. I've had this intake on for about two months now with no issues at all and I have ran into several good rain storms. So as long as you do like me and avoid driving it into a lake you should be alright

Just realized it doesn't matter anymore cause that CAI isn't CARB exempt. CT sucks!
