I've read about that in the past that smugglers target people that travel that route often and hide drugs in their cars. I dont think the blame is on Ford, sounds more like the locksmith and the dealership. That would suck though to get pinched for being unwittingly used as a mule. One of the car mags had an article about cars and hidden compartments used for smuggling. It specifically called out my state, as its a felony to have/use a hidden compartment for that purpose here.

(must of had a sedan, how does one not smell 100 pounds of marijuana in your car?)

Suing whomever has the most money.. Regardless of who was to blame.
The lawsuit claims Ford made it "too easy" for a dealer to access key codes?
What about the criminal at the dealer?
Oh the dealer does not have anywhere near as much money as Ford..
Lawyers.

I agree that Ford should be more proactive in verifying who is accessing the key-code system, but come on... Ford didn't break the law in this case. Living in Juarez, I'm sure the guy was at least cognizant of the possibility that this could happen to him and should have taken precautions to prevent it.

I think the solution here is to not live in Mexico. I've been not-living in Mexico for over 26 years and I've never been used as a drug mule.
Facts are facts, people...

That you know of...

But I agree that Ford isn't who is at fault, the person at the dealer would have to have been in on it or thought something was funny when the same guy kept needing codes.

Legalize weed here in the US and it will kill the mexican cartel's business and that will eliminate a good portion of smuggling to the US.

I feel bad for the guy, but I don't think Ford should be held responsible for the illegal actions of one person at one dealership....
