How much should I pay for this 1 owner SVT?

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/3937763741.html

What can I expect to pay for this car? I have not ran a KBB on it yet, but I assume it's around $6k...please advise!

It also looks like he has replaced all the right thing. The 1 owner part of this car really turns me on!

Thanks,
Sean

KBB:

Private sale (like this one) - $5279

Suggested retail from a dealer - $6704

Both rated at top notch excellent condition by the way.

I'd say around $5000 from a private seller. You'll also want to make sure the timing belt has been done.

Looks like it's really clean, and that usually means well maintained. I notice it has Redline Tuning floormats too...

Personally, I'd be willing to pay about $5500, and subtract $500 if the timing belt hasn't been done. Ask for proof in paper, not just "Oh yeah did that a little while ago."

That's a 5 grand car tops and I'd be a little wary at that because I doubt the timing belt has been done.

Thanks guys. If my SAAB sells I'm all over this thing. So shops will typically charge $500 to do a TB?

Those seats are in impressive condition for seeing over 100k in butt time. Those floor mats are nice touch too

Yeah I hope my SAAB sells..the thing is, though, that I have a loan on my SAAB so a couple things will need to line up for me to get the SVT:

1.) I have about $7k left to finance and we just moved so I have no "extra" money to put towards a car. My point is in saying this is that I would need to get about $12k for my SAAAB which is about $1k over KBB.

2.) Whomever agrees to purchase it for that price will have to essentially give me the money and WAIT for Bank of the West to send the title out. Does anyone know how this kind of thing would work? It essentially sounds like they would really have to trust me lol. The bank won't release the title until it's paid off I guess.

If the system is anything like I'm familiar with, the State issues the Title with lien holders listed at the bottom. New owner would need a lien release form from the bank, as well as the usual bill of sale & state ppwk. to apply for a new title/registration.

Not TOO difficult a transaction if the bank has an office nearby where the transaction can be completed. Completing a transfer at a bank is common anyways for safe & secure handling of the funds. In this case the loan payoff could go straight to the bank from your buyer to get the lien release they will need (copy to you of course).

Check with the Bank to see if they issue releases immediately (just to make sure). You'll need to contact them for a payoff amount anyways, exact $ depends on the day of the transaction (sometimes a weekly "window").

State DMV for title info., here the buyer would need the signed title, bill of sale, lien release and state tax form along with their title application (registration can be done at the same time & is issued immediately, title by mail).

Your exact details may vary, Bank & DMV info. to confirm.

Hope that helps,

Luck!
