can I run halogen bulbs on my hid ballast set up?

Quick story. Got pulled over and cops are hating. So I wanna put stock bulbs on. Can I just tak3 off my hid bulbs and put on halogen bulbs. Like plug and play

Ahh thats why cops are being picky. It's a big no no to run HIDs in non-projector housings.

You should have no issue putting H4s in those housings. Did you splice the factory harness? If you didn't just pull out the HID bulb and ballast and put in the H4 bulbs.

TN just passed a law where a person can get fined $1500 (!!!!) for having HIDs in a car that didn't come with them from the factory. This will turn into something like the tint law. Cops used to be all over people with dark tinted windows, now according to some police friends of mine, the only cops who give tickets to people for tint are those who got beat up in high school.

i get that they made a law for that, but for $1500? that seems a bit steep for having HIDs.
i wonder if people who put machs in regular foci fall under that category?

No because Mach's are DOT certified housings for HID. Doesn't matter if the car didn't have them.

"Proper" retrofits(buy projectors for HID) would be illegal though.
