Swap center console

Has anyone here swapped their center console? I have a 5spd SE hatch with cold weather package and fore-aft style cupholders and do not like not being able to see if the seat heaters are on or off. It also bugs me having to grab the parking brake that far back.

I'd love to swap to a side by side configuration because the parking brake is farther up and you can actually see the switches.

Anyone done it?

If possible, I'd imagine the price on the center console to be upwards of $300.

Junkyard, I've already found a couple for decent prices, but I don't want to buy the console if it won't work.

I've got a '13 Sedan SE with the Winter Package and my e-brake is just to the left of my shifter (manual trans) and my cupholders are side by side instead of one "infront" of the other.

What option makes the ebrake and cupholders different?

Here is the sticker on the backside of my side by side cupholder heated seat centre console

The e brake is on a different longer lever

My only concern would be the emergency lever being different

How does one remove center consol. I saw these two round clips on side of consol in front. I would like to redo some of the wiring I tucked in the front. Ripped the crap out of my hands sliding it under instead of removing. Any pics or write ups. I tried a search, nothing.

Thanks

Model year, mostly. I think all the early versions were fore/aft cupholders rather than side-by-side. I have a '12 made in June 2011 with fore/aft cupholders and seat warmer knobs that you cannot see or activate while driving.

No. Trim level and options mostly. All Ti and SEL have side-by-side cupholders. All 2012 SE have fore/aft cupholders. Some SE have side-by-side cupholders in 2013 only, depending on options. The model year is not the primary determination.
