I've had the Gates Racing belt on my car for a little over two years (25K miles), the only reason I have it because I got it cheap through a friends' job, pretty much half price. Otherwise I would've put a stock belt on.

There have been a few complaints about the Gold Coast pulley about the bearings wearing out prematurely. I've only heard of one GC pulley, maybe the other pulley is for the older Zetecs that use two idlers?

If you get a Gates tensioner make sure it's the old original design, the NEW design failed some people according to a thread in here not too long ago.

The GC pulley is a good product.
If the bearing does happen to fail it's only a $10 part to replace.

Yes I had trouble with mine, but you have to also take into account that I'm putting lots of stress on all my parts.

My best luck has been with Motorcraft belts. Everything else wares far too fast.

Gates makes some of the best belts...I always go that route. Tensioner may be another story, but their belts are arguably the best.

Yeah, that was my thread. I would recommend all OEM for the timing assembly.

Good luck with your T-Belt OP!

I've had no problems with the Gates timing belt kit and water pump. I've used many gates kits with no problems. I just did the timing belt on my SVT and it's going great.
