If anyone remembers, I said this was going to happen a long time ago after they started stripping features from the MFT (Like the shortcut buttons).

I actually looked into it and had multiple lawyers tell me it's almost certain that I'd win. But none of them would want to pursue the case without me paying some upfront.

The article doesn't really seem to state what legal grounds they are basing the case off of. Wish they would have included that.

From what I gathered, in the simplest form, the MFT isn't providing what they advertised and what people paid for. i.e People were told when buying the car that they could program 2 shortcuts on the steering wheel. They paid for this functionality, then it was removed. The system they paid for and was told would work, was buggy at best. Almost like it was beta software. Freezing consistently, sometimes just not working, and other times acting erratically.

But the biggest problem was Fords response to this. Changing a few things at a time, never really offering a permanent solution to problems in software that people paid for. At best people are told to do a master reset. I still have problems, took it to the dealer, and they reset EVERYTHING, and it really didn't solve the issues.

My biggest gripe is how bad the navigation is - but it's not like I didn't know what I was getting into when it was purchased. But taking away the favorites button and NO apps for MFT some 2 years later while SYNC has all sorts of applications irks me.

Hmmmm, I personally haven't had any big enough issues to make me mad enough to start a class action against Ford over MFT... However if this leads to getting shortcuts back, or apps then I'm all for it!

It should be thrown out on the basis that they are actually stupid enough to speculate about a MyMercuryTouch when MFT/MLT didn't even ever come on any Mercury models. .

Dude seriously?

Given how I understand lawyers to work I bet this was one of those 'covering all the bases' decisions. There is probably a reason they choose to include MMT.
