Question Roush Cold Air intake for Focus 2.0???

Any ideas or experience with the Roush Kit. Looks to be a "K&N"esk Paper filter with a Modified top box cover. I like it, but is it Home Creatabke?

I don't think this is any better than doing a knn drop in with the lid on. This looks like it has a chance to get more hot air then the stock setup for sure.

It's an open ended Green Filter with the Roush Logo moulded into it, not exactly a K&N style filter, but neither the Green nor K&N filters are paper filters but rather oiled cloth ones.

In theory if you wanted to hack up your lid you could likely fabricate something similar, but it won't be the same, and it will take more time and effort.

I emailed them for an inquiry on the performance gain of this intake and their response to me was that they didn't do any dyno testing with this intake. For how much it costs for a drop in filter and a modified lid, I think there are better options out there.

I have the Roush intake and it's great. Quality is nice and looks great under the hood. The sealed portion seals to the hood firmly to separate the open portions from the rest of the engine bay

So, that piece of plastic and rubber strip costs $150? Sounds like Roush with their overpriced parts. I doubt that intake gives you any better gains than a filter and snorkel removal. And they didn't even bother to test it so you know how much effort went into it.

More for looks and sound to me - not saying that's a bad thing.
