Arrow Headers? Good and bad side

OKay so Im semi new, and tryin to learn more about engines. anyways what would be the side effects of getting a 4-2-1 Steeda header with a 2.25 or a 2.5 inches exhaust all the way back i know the lack of back pressure would take away torque, well i dont know thats why im askin, and whats better 4-2-1 header of the kamikaze 4-1 header? and does anyone know of a 2.25 or a 2.5 inch flex pipe and a good exhaust under a repuatable brand, speaking of that too what about OBX good bad? yes no? well Id like to thank anyone who helps me out in advance. Thanks

2.5 is ok with straight headers, but 2.25 is better if you have little mods. check out the steeda dyno results from 421 opposed to the 4-1, i wouldnt go for the 4-1, not enough "just focus" companies , in fact none, make them so they prob arnt as effectivet, just pretty cheap. the straight header is the best and you wil gain torque not loose it if you have other mods like just an intake and underdrive pullies n such. OBX is fine, nekind of exhaust is fine really, all do the same thing, just depends on how much you wanna max your hp numbers from your exhaust. 6, half a dozen another to me. but either way, with a stock cat your not gonna get ne horsepower out of a shorty header, but you will find good gains from 421 or 41

4-2-1 has more tq
4-1 long tube has more peaky hp

2.5" is fine for a catback.

i wont say much about obx besides id never own anything from them :P not purchased with my hard earned money anyhow.

bosal flex pipes are probably the most popular among focus owners. no one ever has complaints about them and time and time again they always have a great fit.

id skip the OBX, i had both the Ford racing shorty w/ RT cat, and a rare Focussport 4-2-1 race header, liked both of them, but must say the race header is million times easier to work w/, another option is the SVT header w/ either an ORP or hi flo

yeah the svt header kit is what most would agree the best header available. unlike a race header, you have the option of a cat, which a race header eliminates. so if you need to stay legal thats what you should go for. its still a 4-2-1 design so its better than regular shorty headers.

i would go with the 4-2-1 header because it gives more torque. There isn't a bad side to headers...except your car will be loud. YOu will feel a difference in torque and hp if you do header, flex, and catback all at the same time. Brands i would go with the focus central 4-2-1 header, bosal flex and borla catback. Or you can go the svt header route in which you woul dhave the svt header, rt cat, flex, and catback.

I have had racing headers made for my focus with a high flow cat 2 1/4 flex pipe to a 2 1/4 to the rear and I am very happy with results. But to get the benefit of this, air induction must be improved with larger trottle body and air pod with these things you will wonder why you didn't get headers sooner. also remember the less bends & free flowing the headers the better!
