Sorry if this has been covered before, but I didn't see it.
I asked in this thread: http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...88#post4803888
, but thought I might get more visibility here.
Short story: The owners manual implies that there are a LOT of warnings that may show up on this screen and Metra went to a LOT of trouble to retain this screen and retain the control buttons when they made their dash kit. But the Chinese GPS replacement radios don't include it, and the MFT Focuses don't have it and don't seem to use it at all.
Obviously, I wouldn't want to disconnect the screen and try to keep the stock radio, but if I were replacing the radio anyway, what would I miss out on with the screen disconnected? How to the Chinese GPS's get away with not replacing it.
I'm really more curious on the same question with a new Fiesta, but I figure the cars are pretty similar, although the Focus has a larger instrument panel LCD.
Thanks in advance!!!
