Back turn light.

Has any one changed this to red? I'm thinking of changing it to red and the mirrors to white. So it looks better

i was pretty happy to get amber rear turn signals, to be honest. Several studies throughout the years, including some from the US NHTSA, seem to show faster reaction time to amber turn signals than red ones. I like getting all the safety I can get.

Granted, just having a separate signal bulb (as opposed to combining the brake and turn signal bulbs, like my last car - yuck!) probably makes a large part of the difference.

Agreed. Turning and stopping are two different driving behaviors. It only makes sense for them to have different color indicators.

I m on a mission to replace all my 168 bulbs to LED :) I would just get a brighter amber for the mirrors. It is after all going to assist you from all the whack job drivers out there that are headed for you. The rear. Well.....red is allowed as a turning but I do agree with the OP in here is is a matter of safety. I would change the turning and brake to a LED but I having to splice a resistor and voiding my warranty. In two years maybe lol.

I am going to change the mirros and parking lights. Mirror bright amber LED and the Parking to Pure White or Green. I am leaning towards green.

That's funny. The amber signal is one of the things I like about the Focus.
I am trying to figure out a way to tint the signal portion of the lens amber to make it look more "retro-euro". I haven't figured out a good way yet.

To each his own.

I want a clear bulb that lights up amber but I haven't found one in the right size. I think sylvania makes a mirror type bulb that lights amber but I cant find that either. Anybody find these?

That's a good idea Ron. I only wanted green parking lightd to match my front quarter panel Green Marine emblems. But the mirror clear would be cool. Wonder making the mirror green too would match the parking. Decisions Decisions. I am receiving my blue led for the trunk tomorrow. I am just a LED fool lol

AND.....amber turn signals show better and are easier to see in fog, snow and heavy mist caused by semis on the freeway

Whatever you do, don't buy from stealthbulbs. They make this product and claim they are as bright as stock, but I have tried them in 2 different cars (including my Focus) and they are dramatically dimmer. Total waste of money.

I haven't tried the Sylvanias, but I know they are more of a bluish tint than clear or mirror finish. Mitsubishi actually used them as the OEM signal bulbs in the Eclipse for a while so they have to be bright.
