We kept our Focus as simple as possible without bypassing the important goodies (sport package) so with a 5 speed, sync and the simple HVAC controls mine has been trouble free for 10,000 miles. I was on this forum for 5 minutes back in May '12 right before we considered buying a Focus and I knew to avoid the DCT and am so glad we did.

Best car that I've owned. Incredible amount of bells and whistles, and great driving experience for the money. I get quirks from my DCT and MFT every now and then, but it's perfect the other 99% of the time.

This model hasn't been around long though. Once people start crossing 100K with these things, it would be a bummer to see any notorious issues come up like transmission failure or leaky head gaskets or something. I still may get rid of mine once I work up some equity in it.

I've owned many higher spec four bangers and my 2012 Ti HB is the most fun car I've ever owned. With all the bells and whistles in my Ti in order for me to get another car with the same level of features I'd be looking well into the mid $30K range -- I paid $23.5K...

The two issues this car has had that by themselves far outweigh all other issues has been the DCT and MFT. It seems that there has been and continues to be some variation in the DCT problem as the problem still exists in the 2013 cars while many, myself included, have had no issues with my DCT in the 2012.

I had no problems with MFT (I also have NAV) until the last update early this year (3.5.1) -- prior to this update, which was done by the dealer, I had no issues and I did the previous update myself. I didn't extend the SirusXM subscription (audio quality sucks) but I have a 32GB thumbdrive with 16GB of music I play from USB. I've also played music from my smart phones (SGNexus and HTC One) and that works great, but I generally just play from the USB.

I just went over 20,000 miles and my lifetime average is 38.8mpg.

I've had no other quality issues.

I really love this car and I'm really glad I got the Ti as I don't have to add anything to it.

I have a 13 but I went with the stick and no MFT so everything is great with mine....aside from a few rattles I need to track down.

I wish it had a little more power, can and will be remedied at some point and I wish the speakers sounded a little better, can and will be remedied at some point....

We own a manual SE hatch and can't imagine a better car for the money. If the muffler did its thing as well as it should and the rear visibility was better, the car would be perfect.

I the manual would do it for me. I was forced into the DCT. I'm actually thinking of making an exhaust and thinking about whether to go Dual or Single. I'm pretty much leaning towards one, but as I said, I have to do things to my car to keep me excited about it. And it's only happened with the FoFo. Over 1 year so far and it's still just growing on me. I miss my LS400 and my Supra even more.

Forced by his own impatience, presumably. It's a big part of the American culture. Gotta have it now, even though it's not what I wanted, but it's not my fault.

Like my 2012? Why yes I do, perhaps even love it. I have the dct and have no issues, get great gas mileage, find it comfortable, like how it looks, how it drives... and now there are two in the family as my parents liked it and bought one very similar to mine. So now when at their place it looks a little odd, two black 2012 SEL hatches parked next to each other.... but we all enjoy it.

As others have said, best car I've ever owned and I've owned plenty! Getting close to 2 years now and I still look forward to taking it for a ride! My wife even refers to it as 'the other woman'.

I've had issues with the DCT but the dealer was quick, prompt to fix so to me it wasn't a problem at all. 30k and going strong!!!
